Bart earned a diploma in architectural technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1979 and a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) from the University of Toronto in 1986. He has 31 years of experience as a designer, general contractor and architect in private practice, is a member of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and the Building Industry and Land Association (BILD), and receives continuing education from the BILD and OAA.

 Awarded the Toronto Society of Architects Prize 1986 

 Received the GTHBA Best Renovator Award 2000
